Big Girl Bed!

Thanks to a President's Day sale we finally were able to get Alita out of her crib and into a twin size, Big Girl Bed! Yippee! The boy's got new mattresses and we gave the nicer, newer mattress of theirs to Alita. They all look happy......Here's to a new year with lots of good nights sleep for us all!

Side note, as I helped John take apart the crib I felt like I should have taken pictures of that too (but didn't...). The end of one part of our lives, the Baby Part. It was sad but good too to think this is the last time we will assemble or disassemble that crib until maybe for a grandchild.......

Jesse's 10th Birthday Party!

For Jesse's 10th birthday party we had a "Ben 10" themed event! It was a costume party and the guests were invited to dress up as characters from the show. If you know nothing about Ben 10 he is a boy who has a big watch called an Omnitrix that turns him into aliens so he can fight bad guys. The show evolved a couple of years ago from Ben as a boy to Ben as a teenager in "Ben 10: Alien Force". Jesse is dressed up as the "Teenage Ben 10" and Joshua is dressed in the "Boy Ben 10" attire.

Along with cake we also played a couple of games. And we made a short Ben 10 movie starring Jesse as Ben of course. If we can figure out how to download the movie off the camera we will definitely post it here!

Jesse's first guest to arrive, dressed up as one of the aliens called "Humongousaur". We provided the mask.

As well as games and making a mini "Ben 10" movie with Jesse and his guests, we served mini cheeseburgers for dinner.

One of the activities/games was for the boys to invent a new alien for Ben 10 using playdoh, glitter and pipe cleaners to make a model of their creation.

Here is the Cake obviously! It was strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting.

This was the cake topper. If you press the green button on the bottom "Ben" moves his arm to press his "Omnitrix" (the watch he's wearing to you non-Ben 10 people).

Alita was napping for the first hour of the party but she did get up in time to show off her costume...she was the Ben 10 alien "Echo Echo". Echo Echo is a short robotic alien that can multiply itself.

Here's the full outfit! She promptly spilled grape punch down the front of this white outfit about 15 minutes after this photo was taken. Of course.....
